Algarve voted for the eighth time, best beach destination in Europe
For the third consecutive time and eighth in total, the Algarve won the title of "Best Beach Destination in Europe", in this year's edition of the World Travel Awards, the most prestigious awards in the tourism and travel industry.
The Algarve was again the winner in a list composed of other world-renowned beach destinations such as Cannes (France), Corfu (Greece), Mallorca (Spain), Marbella (Spain), Sardinia (Italy) and also Porto Santo.
Despite the challenges facing the tourism industry in 2020, this year's edition World Travel Awards were heeded in terms of voting, revealing that the willingness to travel and interest in quality destinations continue to manifest itself in strength.
The award for "Best Beach Destination in Europe" was awarded to the Algarve in 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2021.
